Cookie policy

The one cookie Peptinote sets, everything your browser stores for our tools, and how to clear it.

Last updated

At a glance

  • One cookie, only after you sign in

It keeps you signed in. If you never sign in, we set no cookies.
  • Your tools save to your device

The tracker, calculators and rotation tool store your entries in your browser, never on our servers.
  • No tracking, so no banner

No advertising, analytics or social media cookies, ours or anyone else’s.

Peptinote sets a single cookie, and only after you sign in. If you never sign in, Peptinote sets no cookies at all.

  • pn_sessionCookie

Keeps you signed in. It holds a random session identifier (we store only a hash of it). It’s HttpOnly, so scripts can’t read it, sent only over HTTPS, and never sent to other sites.

    Peptinote, after you sign in
    Kept
30 days, or until you sign out or delete your account

There are no advertising, analytics, social media or other tracking cookies on Peptinote, ours or anyone else’s.

What your browser stores for Peptinote

Some tools save what you enter in your browser’s storage (“local storage” and “session storage”), so your work is still there when you come back, and the tracker keeps an offline copy of its pages so it opens without a connection. This data stays on your device. It’s never sent to us, and we can’t read it. It’s listed here because the same rules that cover cookies cover any information a site stores on your device.

  • peptinote.tracker.v1Local storage

Your tracker: vials, doses, injection sites, weight, side effects, notes and settings. This is your log.

    Set by
    The tracker
    Kept
Until you erase it in the tracker or clear this site’s data
  • peptinote.tracker.v1.unreadable. (a family of keys starting with this name)Local storage

A safety copy of tracker data that couldn’t be read (for example after an update), so nothing is lost before you decide what to do with it.

    Set by
The tracker, only if saved data can’t be read
    Kept
Until you remove it in the tracker, erase the tracker or clear this site’s data
  • peptinote.me.v1Local storage

The tracker’s last check of your account: whether you’re signed in, your account email and your plan (Free or Pro, renewal date), so Pro keeps working offline. No payment details.

    Set by
    The tracker
    Kept
Replaced at each check while you’re online (after you sign out, it holds no email); trusted for 7 days at most
  • peptinote.probeLocal storage

A test value written and removed at once, to check that your browser lets the tracker save.

    Set by
    The tracker
    Kept
    Removed immediately
  • peptinote.rotation.v1Local storage

The sites you’ve marked, with the date and time (the latest 200).

    Set by
    The injection-site rotation tool
    Kept
Until you clear them in the tool or clear this site’s data
  • peptinote.install.v1Local storage

How many pages you’ve opened (a count only) and whether you dismissed or already installed the app, so the tip doesn’t keep coming back.

    Set by
The “Add to Home Screen” tip on phones
    Kept
Until you clear this site’s data
  • peptinote.themeLocal storage

Whether you chose Light or Dark. Nothing is stored while the site follows your device.

    Set by
    The light and dark switch
    Kept
Until you choose Auto or clear this site’s data
  • peptinote.pendingVialSession storage

The vial you’re handing to the tracker. Nothing is saved in the tracker until you confirm.

    Set by
A calculator, when you tap “Save this vial”
    Kept
    Until you close the tab
  • pn:calc: (a family of keys starting with this name)Local storage

Your last inputs and up to 5 recent results for that calculator, so they’re there when you come back.

    Set by
Each calculator on peptinote.com (embedded calculators on other sites store nothing)
    Kept
Until you clear this site’s data (the recent list also has its own Clear button)
  • pn-app-pages- (a family of keys starting with this name)Offline cache

The last copy of the tracker’s pages, so it opens without a connection. It holds pages, never your log.

    Set by
    The tracker’s service worker (public/sw.js)
    Kept
Until a newer version replaces it or you clear this site’s data
  • pn-static- (a family of keys starting with this name)Offline cache

The site’s code and styles (up to 120 files), so the tracker works offline. No personal data.

    Kept
Until a newer version replaces it or you clear this site’s data

EU rules on storing information on your device (article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, and article 82 of the French Data Protection Act) require your consent, except for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you’ve asked for. The French data protection authority, the CNIL, lists keeping you signed in among the uses that don’t need consent.

Everything above falls into that category: the session cookie keeps you signed in after you ask to sign in, and the browser storage is how the tracker, the calculators and the rotation tool do what you use them for. Nothing is used to track or profile you, and nothing is shared. So there’s nothing to accept or refuse, and no banner.

If we ever add anything that needs consent, we’ll update this page first and ask you before it runs, with refusing as easy as accepting.

Stripe’s pages

When you subscribe to Pro or manage your subscription, you leave Peptinote for pages run by Stripe (on checkout.stripe.com and billing.stripe.com). Stripe sets its own cookies there, for example to process the payment and prevent fraud, under its cookie policy. Peptinote doesn’t control them.

The embed widget

When a calculator from Peptinote is embedded on another website, it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device: your inputs are kept in memory only while the page is open, and are gone when you leave. The website hosting the widget has its own cookie policy.

How to clear this data

You can remove everything Peptinote stores at any time:

  • Sign out from your account page to remove the session cookie.
  • Clear this site’s data in your browser settings (usually under Privacy, as “Cookies and site data” or “Website data”) and remove peptinote.com. That removes the cookie and all the browser storage listed above.
  • A private or incognito window forgets everything when you close it.

Export your tracker first. Clearing this site’s data deletes your tracker log for good, because it exists only on your device. Use the export in the tracker to keep a copy.

Browsers can also delete site data on their own. Safari, for example, deletes a website’s stored data after seven days of Safari use without visiting that site (WebKit). Web apps added to the Home Screen keep their own data. Export regularly, whatever browser you use.

Changes to this policy

We update this page before we add, change or remove any cookie or stored item, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Questions: privacy@peptinote.com.
