AOD-9604 5 mg reconstitution calculator
How much bac water for AOD-9604 5 mg?
There’s no single right amount: the water sets the strength, not how much AOD-9604 is in the vial, so use the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions. For example, 1 mL makes 5 mg/mL and 2 mL makes 2.5 mg/mL; the table below shows what each volume means on a U-100 syringe.

What each volume makes
| Water | Strength | Each unit | 1 mg is |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 5 mg/mL | 50 mcg | 20 units |
| 2 mL | 2.5 mg/mL | 25 mcg | 40 units |
| 2.5 mL | 2 mg/mL | 20 mcg | 50 units |
Examples; use the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions. Units are on a U-100 syringe: 100 units = 1 mL.
About the 5 mg vial
A 5 mg vial is 5,000 mcg
Per-unit amounts in this vial are small enough to count in mcg. With 1 mL of water it’s 5 mg/mL and each unit holds 50 mcg; with 2 mL it’s 2.5 mg/mL (25 mcg per unit); with 2.5 mL it’s 2 mg/mL (20 mcg per unit). An easy slip with small vials is mixing up mg and mcg: 1 mg is 1,000 mcg, so the mix-up is a thousandfold error. Enter your prescribed amount in the unit your prescriber wrote it in, and let the calculator convert. The same water makes a 10 mg vial twice as strong, so units worked out for another vial size don’t carry over.
The weight trial tested a pill, not an injection
AOD-9604 is a synthetic fragment of human growth hormone, developed as an anti-obesity candidate. Tested as an oral drug in a 24-week study (n=534, 502 randomized), “it failed to demonstrate a significant benefit on the primary weight-loss endpoint”, and a 2026 review notes that this conclusion rests mainly on sponsor-reported outcomes rather than peer-reviewed randomized trials (Dominikowski et al., 2026). The reduced weight gain and body fat often quoted come from obese mice treated for 14 days (Heffernan et al., 2001; Heffernan et al., 2001). Claims about joints and tissue repair rest mainly on animal work too, according to the same review.
What the FDA flagged, and what's in the vial
The FDA says compounded drugs containing AOD-9604 “may pose significant risk for immunogenicity for certain routes of administration” and may have “complexities with regard to peptide-related impurities and API characterization”. It has also “identified serious adverse events that may be associated with AOD-9604, though causality is not clear” (FDA). AOD-9604 is not in any category of the FDA’s 503A list updated May 14, 2026 (FDA). A 2026 review adds that products from unregulated supply chains carry “uncertainty surrounding product composition, dose” (Dominikowski et al., 2026). No regulator has checked the 5 mg on your label, and the calculator’s math is only as good as that number.
Your label may say hGH 176-191
AOD-9604 is hGH(177–191) with an extra tyrosine at the start, which is why it is “sometimes labelled ‘hGH 176–191’ or just ‘GH fragment’” (Dominikowski et al., 2026). Whatever the name on your vial, the calculator works from the mg printed on it. For tested athletes, WADA’s 2026 Prohibited List bans “growth hormone fragments, e.g. AOD-9604 and hGH 176-191” at all times, in and out of competition (WADA).

About AOD-9604
US regulatory status
Not approved for human use in the US
AOD-9604 is not approved by the FDA for any use. The FDA previously placed it in Category 2 because of possible immune reactions and serious adverse events of unclear cause; the nomination was later withdrawn, and it is not on any list that allows pharmacy compounding (checked October 16, 2026). WADA bans it in sport at all times.

How this AOD-9604 calculator works
This AOD-9604 reconstitution calculator starts from the 5 mg in your vial. Add the water you mix it with and the dose your prescriber gave you; it divides the mg by the mL to get the strength, then turns your dose into mL and units on a 30, 50 or 100-unit syringe.
Peptinote never suggests a dose or a water volume. The example volumes are there to make the math easy to check, not as advice. For the full method, see the peptide calculator.
Questions people ask
How do I reconstitute AOD-9604?
Wipe both stoppers with alcohol and let them dry. Draw the volume of bacteriostatic water your pharmacy specifies into a new syringe, add it slowly down the inside of the vial, then swirl gently until clear; don’t shake. Label it with the strength: 5 mg in 1 mL is 5 mg/mL. Full steps: how to reconstitute peptides.
What are the steps to reconstitute AOD-9604 5 mg?
Mixing your AOD-9604 5 mg vial takes the bacteriostatic water your pharmacy specifies and a new sterile syringe. Add the water slowly against the glass and swirl, never shake, until the liquid is clear. If it stays cloudy or has particles, don’t use it; call your pharmacy. Then write the strength and date on the vial and store it as the label says (how to store peptides).
Is there a peptide calculator for AOD-9604?
This page is the AOD-9604 5 mg reconstitution calculator. Enter the water you add (or tap an example volume) and your prescribed dose, and it shows the units to draw on a 30, 50 or 100-unit syringe, the strength, and the doses in the vial, with every step of the math. It never suggests a dose.
How much bac water for a 5 mg AOD-9604 vial?
There’s no single right amount: use the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions. The water only sets the strength; the vial still holds 5 mg however much you add. With 1 mL it’s 5 mg/mL (50 mcg per unit), with 2 mL 2.5 mg/mL (25 mcg per unit) and with 2.5 mL 2 mg/mL (20 mcg per unit). Enter your volume and prescribed dose above to get the units. This product isn’t FDA-approved, so no official label sets a water volume and its contents aren’t verified.
Can Peptinote tell me how many units to take?
No. Peptinote never suggests a dose. Enter the dose your prescriber gave you, and the calculator shows how to measure it: the units, the mL and where the line sits on your syringe, with every step of the math. If you aren’t sure what your dose is, ask your prescriber or pharmacist before drawing anything. How our calculator works.
