Tesamorelin 10 mg reconstitution calculator
How much bac water for tesamorelin 10 mg?
There’s no single right amount: the water sets the strength, not how much tesamorelin is in the vial, so use the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions. For example, 1 mL makes 10 mg/mL and 2 mL makes 5 mg/mL; the table below shows what each volume means on a U-100 syringe.

What each volume makes
| Water | Strength | Each unit | 1 mg is |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 10 mg/mL | 100 mcg | 10 units |
| 2 mL | 5 mg/mL | 50 mcg | 20 units |
| 2.5 mL | 4 mg/mL | 40 mcg | 25 units |
Examples; use the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions. Units are on a U-100 syringe: 100 units = 1 mL.
About the 10 mg vial
Egrifta WR is mixed to 8 mg/mL
The FDA-approved Egrifta WR is an 11.6 mg vial mixed with 1.3 mL of the supplied bacteriostatic water, which makes 8 mg per mL. One mixed vial provides daily doses for 7 days and is thrown away 7 days after mixing (Egrifta WR label). A 10 mg vial holds about 86% of that. With 1, 2 or 2.5 mL it’s 10, 5 or 4 mg/mL, so each unit holds 100, 50 or 40 mcg, against 80 mcg in a mixed Egrifta WR vial. A number of units from Egrifta WR instructions doesn’t transfer to this vial: work your units out again from the mg your prescriber gave you, and follow your prescriber.
The labels use different water
The two Egrifta labels don’t use the same diluent. Egrifta SV is a 2 mg single-dose vial mixed with 0.5 mL of Sterile Water for Injection and injected right away; its label says not to refrigerate or freeze the mixed solution (Egrifta SV label). Egrifta WR, one vial of which lasts 7 days, comes with Bacteriostatic Water for Injection (Egrifta WR label). A 10 mg vial holds 5 times an Egrifta SV vial, so you’ll draw from it many times. Ask your pharmacist which water your vial takes and how long it lasts once mixed, and see bacteriostatic vs sterile water.
A 10 mg vial isn't Egrifta
The current FDA labels describe two tesamorelin vials, Egrifta WR at 11.6 mg and Egrifta SV at 2 mg, and neither is 10 mg. In August 2026 the FDA warned an online seller that the tesamorelin it sold was an unapproved new drug, and that calling its products “research use only” didn’t change that, because its website showed they were meant for people (FDA warning letter). The calculator can only use the mg printed on your vial, and on an unapproved vial no regulator has checked that number. Ask a pharmacist before you mix.

About tesamorelin
US regulatory status
FDA-approved for a different use
FDA-approved as Egrifta WR and Egrifta SV (Theratechnologies) only to reduce excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV and lipodystrophy; the labels say it is not indicated for weight loss. The first Egrifta approval was on November 10, 2010. Tesamorelin sold online as a “research” peptide is an unapproved drug, and the FDA has sent warning letters to sellers. WADA prohibits it at all times.

How this tesamorelin calculator works
This tesamorelin reconstitution calculator starts from the 10 mg in your vial. Add the water you mix it with and the dose your prescriber gave you; it divides the mg by the mL to get the strength, then turns your dose into mL and units on a 30, 50 or 100-unit syringe.
Peptinote never suggests a dose or a water volume. The example volumes are there to make the math easy to check, not as advice. For the full method, see the peptide calculator.
Questions people ask
How much bacteriostatic water to mix with 10 mg of tesamorelin?
There’s no single right amount: use the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions. The water only sets the strength; the vial still holds 10 mg however much you add. With 1 mL it’s 10 mg/mL (100 mcg per unit), with 2 mL 5 mg/mL (50 mcg per unit) and with 2.5 mL 4 mg/mL (40 mcg per unit). Enter your volume and prescribed dose above to get the units.
How much bac water for a 10 mg vial of tesamorelin?
Whatever volume you add, only the strength changes; the vial still holds 10 mg. More water spreads it out, so each unit holds less and the same dose takes more units: easier to measure, but more liquid to inject. Going from 1 mL to 2.5 mL takes each unit from 100 mcg to 40 mcg. Check the volume on your pharmacy’s instructions first.
How much bacteriostatic water goes in 10 mg of tesamorelin?
Use the volume your pharmacy specifies, and never more than the vial itself can hold (its size in mL, not the 10 mg on the label). If you weren’t given a volume, ask the pharmacist who dispensed the vial before mixing. For reference, the bac water calculator shows the arithmetic: water (mL) = vial mg × units ÷ (dose mg × 100).
How do I reconstitute tesamorelin 10 mg?
Wipe both stoppers with alcohol and let them dry. Draw the volume of bacteriostatic water your pharmacy specifies into a new syringe, add it slowly down the inside of the vial, then swirl gently until clear; don’t shake. Label it with the strength: 10 mg in 1 mL is 10 mg/mL. Full steps: how to reconstitute peptides.
How do I reconstitute tesamorelin?
Mixing your tesamorelin 10 mg vial takes the bacteriostatic water your pharmacy specifies and a new sterile syringe. Add the water slowly against the glass and swirl, never shake, until the liquid is clear. If it stays cloudy or has particles, don’t use it; call your pharmacy. Then write the strength and date on the vial and store it as the label says (how to store peptides).
Is there a peptide calculator for tesamorelin?
This page is the tesamorelin 10 mg reconstitution calculator. Enter the water you add (or tap an example volume) and your prescribed dose, and it shows the units to draw on a 30, 50 or 100-unit syringe, the strength, and the doses in the vial, with every step of the math. It never suggests a dose.
Can Peptinote tell me how many units to take?
No. Peptinote never suggests a dose. Enter the dose your prescriber gave you, and the calculator shows how to measure it: the units, the mL and where the line sits on your syringe, with every step of the math. If you aren’t sure what your dose is, ask your prescriber or pharmacist before drawing anything. How our calculator works.
